Throughout the creation of my piece of architecture there have been many things in which I have found to have a great influence. From things such as magazine images through to the vast collection of artworks by the artist Rembrandt.
As seen above in the artwork entitled "Philosopher in Meditation" painted byRembrandt van Rijn, 1632.
They have had an influential impact of the creation of my architecture as I have tried to capture the emitting sensation in which is portrayed throughout his artworks' environments. The artworks by Rembrandt have also been influential as I have used his sense of colour arrangement and sense of light and dark in the development of my textures. This can be seen as by using his artworks as a reference I am able to apply my textures to my building and in doing so, try to create an essence of persecptive throughout the building. (hence layers - above and below)
Below is a quote by Grace McGarvie:
"An architect is the drawer of dreams" - this is true for me as I tried to make my dream of the perfect building in my mind reality. (plus i just like this quote as it shows that nothing is impossible and that architects are here to break the norms or reality.)
Both Pincinini and Swallow were influential as well (mainly cause it was built for them) but also because the building uses aspects of their working process as it aims to draw a link between animals, nature, science, materiality and technology.
